I'm about to log off, but you should add numbers to that. "Normal" and "slow" are really subjective.
Depending on how and when you "test" our speed, it could also be connected to your 'NG times'. If you check out NG when everyone in your street just finished supper, then the connection is going to be a little slower. Similar lag spikes might arise when you browse NG while half of the US has time to do the same.
